Umrah pilgrims in Makkah experienced a deeply spiritual and serene moment on August 29, 2025, as heavy rains poured down on the Kaaba during Maghrib prayers.

Despite the downpour, Sheikh Maher Al Muaiqly led the prayers with devotion, and thousands of worshippers continued their rituals, using scarves, prayer mats, or umbrellas for cover. The sight of pilgrims standing firm in their prayers amidst the rainfall reflected unity, faith, and patience.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) had earlier issued a yellow weather alert for Makkah, forecasting moderate rainfall, active winds, and reduced visibility. Authorities urged both pilgrims and residents to remain cautious during the changing weather conditions.

The rare combination of rain and prayer at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) created an unforgettable moment for many believers, symbolizing blessings and divine mercy in the heart of Islam’s holiest city.
