Crackdown from October 18

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has warned that a strict crackdown will begin from October 18, 2025.

Motorists and motorcyclists without a valid license will face legal action.

Penalties include fines, arrests, and vehicle impoundment.

People caught without a license will also be ineligible for character certificates until they get one.

Why This Step Was Taken

The authorities explained that these measures are aimed at:

Improving road safety.

Ensuring compliance with traffic laws.

Reducing the number of unlicensed drivers in the capital.

---

Extended Services for Citizens

To meet the increasing demand, the ITP has already expanded its facilities:

Longer operating hours at license centers.

Mobile license units in different areas.

Additional staff to speed up the process.

Citizens have been strongly urged to apply before October 7 to avoid penalties during the crackdown.
