Mayor Announces Major Development Projects

Karachi is set to see new flyovers and bridges as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades. On Wednesday, Mayor Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the construction of a Rs1.6 billion flyover on Khalid bin Waleed Road in Malir.

This new four-lane flyover will connect the National Highway with Mehran Highway. According to officials, the project will be completed within a year and will benefit millions of commuters.

Less Traffic Jams, Safer Roads

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Wahab said the flyover will help reduce traffic jams and road accidents near the Cattle Colony railway crossing.

He added that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is committed to improving Karachi’s road network and making travel safer for citizens.

More Projects Coming Soon

Apart from this project, the mayor also announced:

A new bridge at Azeempura.

A four-lane structure near Quaidabad.

He rejected criticism of the projects, calling it “baseless propaganda.”

Call for Political Unity

Mayor Wahab also urged opposition parties, including MQM and Jamaat-e-Islami, to unite in demanding funds from the federal government for key projects like the K-IV water scheme.

He assured Karachi residents that his administration will continue working on development projects

to provide long-term relief.
