⚡ Nepra Gives Rs. 1.79 Per Unit Relief in September Electricity Bills

Good news for electricity consumers in Pakistan. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved a relief of Rs. 1.79 per unit in electricity bills for September 2025. This relief comes under the fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for power used in July 2025.

In its notification, Nepra said the adjustment will be shown separately in September bills. If any bills are issued before this decision, the relief will be added in the next month’s bills.

📊 Who Will Get the Relief?

The relief applies to all consumer categories of ex-Wapda distribution companies (XWDiscos) and K-Electric, except:

  • Lifeline consumers

  • Domestic protected consumers

  • Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS)

  • Prepaid consumers

⚡ Extra Relief for K-Electric Consumers

Nepra also approved an additional relief of Rs. 0.78 per unit for K-Electric users. This adjustment is linked to the fuel charges variation for June 2025 and will also appear in September bills.

📰 What It Means for Citizens

This step is expected to bring temporary relief to households and businesses in cities like Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and others struggling with rising energy costs.
