Punjab witnessed a historic development as advanced thermal technology was deployed for the first time in Pakistan to aid flood rescue operations. According to official reports, more than 490 people were successfully located and evacuated from affected districts, including Okara, Jhang, Atharah Hazari, Shorkot, and Ahmadpur Sial.

The thermal systems allowed rescuers to conduct night operations, detecting stranded individuals in areas invisible to the human eye. Officials described this as a game-changing breakthrough in Pakistan’s emergency response capabilities.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised the rescue teams for their swift action and innovation, highlighting the role of technology in strengthening disaster management. Authorities confirmed that adopting such advanced tools would significantly improve the province’s ability to respond to future emergencies.

This development not only reflects Pakistan’s growing adoption of modern rescue technologies but also demonstrates a commitment to saving lives even under the toughest conditions.
