PCB Directs Test Stars to Play Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Before South Africa Series

Pakistan’s cricket board has given new instructions to its Test squad ahead of the home series against South Africa.

Four Key Players in Action

According to reports, Mohammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, Salman Ali Agha, and Sajid Khan will feature in the opening round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy starting October 6.

This step was taken on the orders of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to ensure that players enter the South Africa series with strong match fitness.

Who Plays Where?

Rizwan and Sajid Khan will represent Peshawar Region against Sialkot Region, which includes Salman Ali Agha.

Hasan Ali will play for Lahore Whites against Islamabad Region.

The first round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will end on October 9, just two days before the opening Test at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Building Momentum Before South Africa Clash

These players are expected to join Shan Masood’s squad for the first Test on October 11.

The PCB believes that playing competitive domestic cricket will sharpen batting and bowling skills. Rizwan and other batters will face quality bowling, while bowlers like Hasan Ali and Sajid Khan will benefit from extended spells in first-class conditions.

This move is seen as an important step to prepare Pakistan’s team for the challenge of South Africa’s pace and spin attack.
