Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan Likely to Rise from Sept 16
The government is expected to raise fuel prices in Pakistan from September 16, 2025, for the next two weeks. The increase comes as global oil markets see fresh hikes due to rising geopolitical tensions.
Petrol Price May Go Up
Petrol is likely to rise by Rs. 1.54 per litre, reaching Rs. 266.15 from the current Rs. 264.61.
Diesel Price Impact
High-speed diesel, which is mostly used in transport and agriculture, may see a bigger jump. The price could increase by Rs. 4.79 per litre, taking it to Rs. 274.78.
Kerosene and Light Diesel Oil
Kerosene oil may rise by Rs. 3.06 per litre to Rs. 179.87.
Light diesel oil is expected to climb by Rs. 3.68, reaching Rs. 163.44.
This marks a 2.3% increase compared to current rates.
Recent Price Changes
On September 1, the government had reduced diesel by Rs. 3 per litre, while keeping petrol unchanged.
Why the Increase?
The price adjustment reflects higher crude oil costs after Ukrainian drone strikes disrupted Russian exports from the Primorsk port, a key hub on the Baltic Sea.
📢 Bottom Line
If approved, Pakistanis will face higher fuel costs starting September 16. This will affect transport, agriculture, and overall daily expenses.
