PM Shehbaz Rewards Shepherds Who Saved 300 Villagers from Flood in Gilgit-Baltistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has honored three brave shepherds from Gilgit-Baltistan for their heroic efforts in saving nearly 300 villagers from a devastating flood in the Ghizer district.

According to reports, the shepherds noticed unusual signs of danger and immediately raised the alarm, urging residents to evacuate before the floodwaters arrived. Their timely action allowed hundreds of villagers to escape safely, preventing a major disaster.

Recognizing their courage, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a cash award of Rs. 25 lakh each for the shepherds. He hailed them as the “true heroes of Pakistan” and praised their selflessness, saying their quick thinking and community spirit set an example for the entire nation.

The Prime Minister further emphasized the importance of community awareness in disaster management, noting that vigilance at the local level can save countless lives. He assured that the government is taking steps to improve early warning systems, particularly in vulnerable areas like Gilgit-Baltistan, where floods and natural calamities remain a recurring threat.
