According to Ukraine’s Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk, many people in Kyiv woke up without electricity on Friday. Firefighters were seen battling flames in several damaged apartment buildings.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia’s strikes targeted civilian and energy infrastructure as the country prepares for a harsh winter.

In another tragic incident, 12 apartment buildings were damaged in the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia.

A seven-year-old boy was killed and four people were injured, said the regional governor.
