Punjab Approves Rs 200 Million Theme Park in Lahore, Unveils Major Tourism Projects

The Punjab government has given the green light to a Rs 200 million feasibility study for a new theme park in Lahore, signaling a major step towards strengthening the city’s entertainment and tourism sector.

The approval came during a Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) meeting chaired by Planning & Development Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf. According to officials, the upcoming theme park will include modern recreational facilities designed for families, making Lahore a new hub for leisure and tourism activities.

In addition to the theme park, the PDWP cleared several other tourism-oriented projects:

  • Sky Walk Glass Bridge in Murree – Rs 72.15 million

  • Chairlift and cable car from Lakot to Pindi Point, Murree – Rs 90 million

  • Cable car at River Indus, Mianwali – Rs 81.57 million

Beyond tourism, the meeting also approved infrastructure and development projects worth Rs 5.1 billion across Punjab, covering roads, IT, and minority affairs.

These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing tourism, modernizing infrastructure, and boosting regional development, ultimately creating new opportunities for both locals and visitors.
