🌧 Heavy Rain in Hyderabad Creates Flood Emergencies Across Sindh
Hyderabad faced record-breaking rainfall in the last 24 hours, with many parts of the city underwater. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed that Latifabad received 280mm of rain, the highest in the district. City Taluka recorded 268mm, Qasimabad 185mm, and Rural Taluka 158mm.
🚨 Tragic Incidents Reported
The heavy downpour led to dangerous situations. A rickshaw and a car were swept away by floodwater into the Thado stream. Sadly, a woman drowned, while another woman and the car driver remain trapped. Police said rescue teams are struggling as water levels in Konkar stream are still very high.
🌊 Latifabad Worst Hit
Latifabad was the hardest hit area, where streets, homes, and shops were flooded. Daily life came to a standstill, and residents faced serious difficulties in moving around.
🚗 Karachi Also Affected
In Karachi, rain caused major traffic jams and flooding. Important roads like M.A. Jinnah Road, Guru Mandir, Golimar, Rizvia, Board Office, KDA, Nagan Chowrangi, and Karelia Stop were submerged. Motorists and residents had to face hours of struggle in the waterlogged streets.
🏠 Floods Enter Homes
In areas like Lassi Goth and Sukhia Goth, floodwater entered homes, forcing families to shift their belongings. Police also confirmed that two factory walls collapsed due to the strong pressure of water.
