The province of Sindh is preparing for the potential arrival of up to one million cubic feet of floodwater, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has called on authorities to remain vigilant, stressing that any inflow above 900,000 cubic feet is categorized as a “super flood.”

Inspections of the Guddu and Sukkur Barrages have been carried out to ensure their stability, though officials have warned of possible breaches at multiple points if water levels continue to rise.

In response to the crisis, the government has converted over 1,000 schools in Larkana into temporary relief camps, now sheltering more than 32,000 displaced individuals. Families are being provided with food and essential supplies, while education authorities work to safeguard school assets during this emergency.

Authorities remain on high alert across the province, coordinating efforts to protect vulnerable communities and minimize the risk of large-scale damage.
